5/20/2014 · The only other food, and unfortunately it is costly and it is prescription only, is going to be Science Diet C/D Multicare. This food is amazing for these types of situations, and in my opinion, the only good equivalent to the Royal Canin food. You will not find any over the counter diet that matches either of these diets. Very sorry about the cost.
I went through all this and the first thing to do is get a water bubbler with a filter and keep it clean and change the filter often. Secondly is to switch to a grain free wet food which should be served about twice a day. As for dry I buy a urinary health formula from Purina which is only given a couple tbsp a day. The water is very important.
